Selection Process

The Bihar Police Constable selection process comprises two main stages: a written exam and a physical eligibility test (PET). Here’s a breakdown of what you can expect at each stage:

1. Written Exam:

The written exam will assess your knowledge and skills relevant to police work. It will likely cover areas such as:

  • General Knowledge (GK): Current affairs, Indian history, civics, basic science, and geography.
  • Mental Ability: Logical reasoning, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Hindi Language: Comprehension, vocabulary, and basic writing skills.

To qualify for the PET, you need to score at least 30 marks in the written exam. The specific format and syllabus for the written exam may vary slightly, so stay tuned to the official CSBC website for any updates.

2. Physical Eligibility Test (PET):

If you clear the written exam, you’ll be called for the PET. This test is designed to assess your physical fitness and stamina, ensuring you possess the necessary capabilities for police work. The PET may include components like:

  • Running: A specified distance within a set time limit.
  • Long Jump: Measuring your jumping ability.
  • High Jump: Testing your upper body strength and agility.
  • Shot Put: Assessing your upper body strength.

The CSBC will provide detailed information on the specific requirements and weightage for each event in the PET.

How to Prepare for Exam?

Here are some tips to help you prepare effectively for both stages of the selection process:

  • Written Exam: Start by familiarizing yourself with the exam syllabus and pattern. Practice solving previous year’s question papers (if available) and take mock tests to identify your strengths and weaknesses. Brush up on your general knowledge, current affairs, and basic Hindi language skills.
  • Physical Eligibility Test: Regular physical exercise is crucial for acing the PET. Focus on improving your cardiovascular endurance, strength, and stamina. Practice running, jumping exercises, and basic weight training to boost your physical fitness.
