The Nobel Prize in Physics was announced by Goran. K. Hansson, Secretary General of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, on Tuesday 3 October. 

The Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine was announced by Thomas Perlmann, Secretary of Nobel Committee for Physiology or Medicine on Monday 2 October

The Nobel Prize in Chemistry was announced by Goran. K. Hansson, Secretary General if the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, on Wednesday 4 October

The Nobel Prize in Literature was announced by Sara Danius, Permanent Secretary of the Swedish Academy, on Thursday, 5 October

The Nobel Peace Prize was announced by Berit Reiss-Andersen, Chairman of the Norweigan Nobel Committee, on Friday 6 October

The Sveriges Riksbank Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences was announced by Goran. K. Hansson, Secretary General of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, on Monday, 9 October 2017

What is Nobel Prize

According to 1895 will of Alfred Nobel it was decided to distribute Nobel Prize for outstanding contributions in five fields. The Nobel Prize was first awarded in 1901 in physics, chemistry, physiology or medicine, literature and peace in memory of Sir Alfred Nobel who was a chemist, engineer and inventor from Sweden. Later in 1969 Nobel in Economics was first introduced. From 1901 to 2017 a total number of 923 nobel laureates have been awarded this prize. The winner receives a gold medal , a diploma and a prize money worth 8 Million SEK or $1.2 Million.

The Nobel Prize is widely regarded as the most prestigious award in the world available in the fields of literature, physics, chemistry, medicine or physiology, peace and economics. As Alfred’s will the award is administered by Nobel Foundation and awarded by the Swedish Academy in favour of  the Nobel Committee of Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, Stockholm. Nobel peace prize is awarded by Norweigan Nobel Committee. Nobel Peace prizes are presented in Stockholm, Sweden at the annual Prize Award ceremony. The Sveriges Riksbank of Sweden provides the Nobel Prize for Economic Sciences.

Nobel Peace Prize 2017 There are total 318 candidates nominated for 2017 Nobel peace prize out of which 215 are individuals and 103 are organisations.

The 12 Nobel laureates have been awarded this prize in – literature, physics, chemistry, medicine or physiology, peace, economics.
