Indian Currency Note of Rs 500 & 1000 Is Now Invalid From 8th Nov Midnight, New 2000 Rupee Note Introducing on 10th Nov

All Indian currency note of rupees five hundrend and one thousand has been banned from yesterday 8th nov midnight at 12 AM. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced yesterday to the media about this breaking news. To stop piracy of indian currency notes the central government of india has decided to ban it.

No 500 and 1000 Rupee notes can not be used for transaction. Credit card and debit card can be used for online transaction like air ticket booking, rail ticket booking. At all type of govt organisation old currency note will be accepted. Rupee notes of 100, 50, 20, 10, 5 and all 1 , 2 rupee coins will be valid as normal. Regarding this issue all type of banks in india will be closed today on wednesday 9th of nov. And all atms will be closed for the next two days- today and tomorrow. From atm 2000 rs maximum can be withdrawn per day. Maximum 10000 Rs per day and 20000 Rs per week can be withdrawn from bank account

Public has to use the new currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 issued by the central government of india in respect of reserve bank of india. Old rupee notes of 500 & 1000 can be exchanged through bank showing aadhar card and voter card within 10th nov to 30th december 2016.

So there is a fifty days limitation of exchanging these notes. Customers need to contact own’s local bank with documents to change notes. It seems that govt want to collect all these currency notes from open market all over india to curb black money. New 500 and 2000 rupee currency notes will be available in all banks from 10th nov where public can exchange.

A panic has been created regarding this issue all over india. The governor of Reserve Bank of India has urged people not to panic. Prime Minister said to be alert when using these currency notes.

Indian American Akhil Sharma Wins International Dublin Literary Award 2016

  • Indian American author Akhil Sharma won the prestigious 2016 International Dublin Literary Award for his semi-autobiographical novel“Family Life.”
  • Dublin Literary Award 2016:

  • The International Dublin Literary Award is an annual international literary award given for a novel written in English or translated into English, solely sponsored by the Ireland’s capital city Dublin.
  • The aim of the award is to promote excellence in world literature.
  • The award is richest literary prizes in the world and carries monetary prize of 100,000 euros. If the winning book is a translation then prize is divided between the writer and the translator.
  • Shortlisted out of an initial 160 nominations by a panel of judges of award that included novelists Ian Sansom, Juan Pablo Villalobos and Carlo Gebler.

    About the Author?

  • Akhil Sharma was born in New Delhi. Later he had immigrated to US along with his family in 1979.
  • “Family Life”— Akhil Sharma’s second novel and took him 13 years to write.  His first novel was An Obedient Father published in 2000. It has won the prestigious PEN/Hemingway Foundation Award in 2001. His stories also have been published in The New Yorker and in Atlantic Monthly. These stories have been included in The Best American Short Stories and also in O. Henry Prize Collections.
  • Awards and honours: In 2007, he was named as one of Granta magazine’s Best of Young American Novelists. His second novel Family Life had won the prestigious 2015 Folio Prize.
