Eligibility Criteria for lady constable Recruitment 2018
As the post name is lady constable so only female candidates are primarily eligible for this job. No male candidates are allowed to apply. Minimum educational qualification for a candidate is Matric/Seondary/Madhyamik from central govt or state govt recognised institutions. Candidates applying from any district of West Bengal should be passed out secondary/matric/madhyamik from West Bengal Board of Secondary Education before the date of applying. Higher Secondary(Intermediate)/Graduate candidates passed out from any govt recognized Indian state board/university can also apply for this job. To be eligible, age limit, academic qualification , physical and medical standards are also veryfied.
Age limit
A candidate should be aged between 18 to 27 years as of 01/01/2018. There is no age relaxation for general categorised applicants either she is from West Bengal or other state. Sc and st candiates will get 5 years of age relaxation where obc candidate get 3 years. Civic Volunteers, Homeguard, NVF personnel will get age relaxation as per govt norms.
Educational Qualification
An applicant from West Bengal must be possessee Matric passed certificate from any govt approved organisation. A candidate except from other state except WB should be possessed a Secondary passed certificate of her own state board.

Physical and Medical Standards

Weight – 49 kilograms
For the candidates belonging to Gorkha, Garwali, Ravanshi and Scheduled Tribe community height should be 152 cm and weight 45 kgs.

Wb police 2550 lady constable job Selection Process
There are four stages of 2550 lady constable selection process 2018 includes preli exam, pet, main exam and personality test. We also discussing all the details of four stages including preliminary exam syllabus, main exam syllabus, pet exam and interview syllabus of West Bengal police recruitment.
1. Preliminary Examination
WBPRB will primarily select candidates by sorting properly filled up application form and will call for 100 marks preliminary exam. This exam pattern would be multiple choice objective type where each question carries four options. One mark is allotted for each question. It means total 100 marks for 100 questions. There is a negative marking for each wrong answer. One mark will be deducted against answering four wrong answer. The exam duration is one and half hour(1hr and 30 mins).
Preliminary exam Syllabus: The Preliminary Exam includes three subjects a) General Awareness and General Knowledge (50marks) b) Elementary Mathematics (30marks) c) Reasoning (20marks)
After qualified in preliminary exam candidates will be called for a physical efficiency test
2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
In physical efficiency test a candidate’s height and weight will be examined and after qualifying in physical measurement test(PMT)she should cover a 800 meter track and field run test in 4 minutes. The run timing would be measured by a radio frequency identification device.
3. Main Exam
After qualifying this two tests, a 85 marks written exam will be conducted by WBPRB. This exam pattern is slightly different from preliminary exam. There will four subjects-
Main Exam syllabus – (a)General Knowledge & General Awareness (25marks) (b) General English (25marks) (c) Elementary Mathematics (20marks) (d) Reasoning & Logical Analysis(15marks). The main written exam will also be of multiple type objective(mcq) questions. There is negative marking for each wrong answer. Means one mark will be deducted from total acquired number against four wrong answer.
All the written test will be of Madhyamik/Matric standard and the question papers will contain two languages- Bengali and Nepali.
4. Interview or Personality Test
All the successfully qualified candidates of these three stages will be called for a personality test consist 15 marks. Candidates will be asked general awareness type questions in this test.

The headquarters of the West Bengal police is located at “Bhawani Bhavan”, Alipore, Kolkata and “Nabanna” , Mandirtala, Howrah. The West Bengal police is headed by the Director General and Inspector General of police, 27 officers of the rank of Additional Director General and Inspector General of police, 35 officers of the rank of Inspector General of police, and 22 officers of the rank of Deputy Inspector General of police, 106 officers of the rank of Superintendent of Police, 53 officers of the rank of Addl Superintendent of Police and a very large number of police officers/ men including women police.
West Bengal police has been spread over 27 districts including 4 govt. Railway Police Unit. Apart from this there are 6(Sixs) Police Commissionerates under West Bengal police. There are 8 ranges and 3 zones for the purpose of supervision of Police service throughout the state. The region is headed by an officer of the rank of Addl.
